DRV-RGB-12V5A 12V 5A RGB LED driver board for RGB LED strip control with independent red, green and blue inputs

DRV-RGB-12V5A RGB LED Driver

DRV-RGB-12V5A has been introduced as an RGB LED driver board for 12 V RGB LED strip applications.

The module operates from a 12 V supply and supports up to 5 A current through the terminal block input. It provides separate red, green and blue LED outputs, allowing each color channel of an RGB LED strip to be controlled independently.

Independent RGB Signal Inputs

The DRV-RGB-12V5A board includes three color signal inputs: RI, GI and BI.

These inputs are used to control the red, green and blue channels separately. The input signals can be provided by RGB control boards such as CTS-RGB, or by another control circuit that generates compatible switching signals.

The wide input switching voltage range makes the board easier to integrate with different RGB control interfaces.

Supply Options and LED Strip Connection

The board provides multiple supply connection options.

The terminal block input can be used for applications up to 5 A. The adapter jack input can be used for applications up to 2 A. A 12 V pin connection is also available for lower-current use or for supplying an external control board.

The RGB LED strip can be connected directly to the 12 V, R, G and B output terminals. In high-current applications, the current-carrying capacity of the connection cables and power source must be considered.

Modular Driver Structure

DRV-RGB driver boards are designed with a modular structure.

Thanks to the low input load, multiple DRV-RGB boards can be driven in parallel using the same control signals. This can be useful in applications where the total RGB LED strip current requirement exceeds the capacity of a single driver board.

Thermal Support for Higher Current Use

For applications operating close to the maximum current level, solderable copper paths are provided on the back side of the board.

Adding solder to these copper areas can improve current-carrying and heat-spreading performance. This helps support more reliable operation in higher-current RGB LED strip applications.

Typical Application Areas

DRV-RGB-12V5A can be used in systems where 12 V RGB LED strips need to be driven by external control signals.

Typical application areas include:

· 12 V RGB LED strip applications

· CTS-RGB based sound-responsive lighting systems

· RGB control board driver applications

· Decorative lighting setups

· Visual effect systems

· Prototype lighting applications

· Hobby and development projects

Conclusion

DRV-RGB-12V5A provides a practical RGB LED driver board structure for 12 V LED strip applications. With 5 A terminal block input support, independent RI/GI/BI signal inputs, multiple supply options and modular parallel-use capability, it offers a useful driver platform for RGB lighting, visual effects and prototype development setups.
