Improved zero-cross detector module beta announcement for AC power control and triac triggering applications

Zero-Cross Detector Module Beta Development

The improved zero-cross detector module is moving toward the beta stage.

This module is being developed for AC power control applications where accurate zero-crossing detection and controlled triggering behavior are required. With its 220 V RMS AC input structure, the module is intended to provide a practical interface for detecting the zero-crossing point of an AC waveform.

Zero-Crossing Detection

Zero-crossing detection is an important function in AC control systems.

By detecting the point where the AC waveform crosses zero, the control circuit can synchronize switching or triggering actions with the AC line. This is especially useful in triac control, SCR triggering and AC load control applications where timing accuracy affects system behavior.

Adjustable Trigger Timing

The module is planned to support adjustable trigger timing.

This includes defining both the trigger starting point and the trigger duration. With this structure, the triggering behavior can be adapted according to the requirements of the target AC power application.

Logic Trigger Output and Control Options

The improved zero-cross detector module includes a logic trigger tracking output.

In addition, the module is planned to support output inversion and enable/disable control. These features make the module more flexible for different control circuits and signal interface requirements.

Typical Application Areas

The zero-cross detector module can be used in AC systems where zero-crossing information or controlled triggering is required.

Typical application areas include:

· Triac triggering circuits

· SCR control applications

· AC load control systems

· Phase-angle control experiments

· AC power regulation tests

· Industrial control prototypes

· R&D and laboratory test setups

Conclusion

The improved zero-cross detector module is being prepared for beta release as a practical interface for AC power control applications. With accurate zero-crossing detection, adjustable trigger timing, logic trigger output, output inversion and enable/disable support, it is intended to simplify development work in triac, SCR and AC load control systems.
