DI30A-25W10-NA: Isolated Gate Driver Design

DI30A-25W10-NA is a single-channel isolated gate driver module designed for high-power switching applications. It provides up to 30 A peak gate charge and discharge capability, making it suitable for driving IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs in demanding power electronics systems.

This Design to Reality view presents the transition from the design stage to the manufactured hardware, showing how the isolated driver structure, compact PCB layout and high-current gate drive interface are carried into the final product form.

High-Current Gate Drive Capability

The module can be used in both low-side and high-side driver configurations. With support for 1200 V class IGBT and SiC MOSFET control, it provides a practical driver structure for applications where isolation, high gate current capability and switching reliability are important.

Its 30 A peak gate charge and discharge capability makes the module suitable for systems where fast and controlled switching behavior is required.

Protection Functions

DI30A-25W10-NA includes several protection functions intended to support safer and more reliable switching operation.

PWM Interlock:Helps prevent unsafe overlap conditions in systems where high-side and low-side PWM signals operate together.

Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO):Prevents the driver from operating when the supply voltage is below the required level.

Desaturation Protection (DESAT):Monitors abnormal switching conditions and helps protect the connected IGBT or MOSFET during desaturation events.

Active Miller Clamp (AMC):Helps prevent unwanted turn-on caused by Miller current during high-speed switching transitions.

Negative Bias:Improves turn-off immunity and reduces the risk of Miller-induced false triggering.

Gate Overvoltage and Transient Protection:Helps limit excessive voltage and transient events that may appear at the gate connection.

Typical Use Cases

DI30A-25W10-NA can be used in industrial and power electronics applications that require isolated gate drive capability, high peak gate current and robust switching behavior.

Typical use cases include:

  • Industrial motor drives

  • Induction heating systems

  • Solar inverter systems

  • Isolated DC-DC and AC-DC power supplies

  • Server and telecom power supplies

  • Industrial power supplies

  • UPS systems

Conclusion

DI30A-25W10-NA provides a compact isolated gate driver structure for IGBT and SiC MOSFET control. With 30 A peak gate drive capability, isolated operation and integrated protection functions, it is suitable for high-voltage power electronics applications where switching reliability and driver robustness are important.
